Senior Director, AI & Data Science Solutions (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $230,720–$345,000 annually, plus incentive opportunity.

What you will do

• Define the AI, Generative AI, and data science strategy and roadmap across the R&D value chain.
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable AI solutions for clinical, operational, real-world, sensor, imaging, and omics data.
• Oversee AI and Gen AI use cases from ideation through production, monitoring, retraining, and lifecycle management.
• Establish responsible AI, observability, governance, auditability, and data quality practices in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
• Translate complex scientific challenges into executable data and AI initiatives and advise senior R&D leadership.
• Manage the portfolio budget, resources, vendors, timelines, and a multidisciplinary team of AI and data science professionals.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive leadership experience in data science, AI/ML, and Generative AI, including 5+ years in senior technical leadership or management.
• Experience architecting, building, and maintaining large-scale data and AI solutions in scientific, regulated, or research-heavy environments.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences R&D and applications of AI and machine learning in pharma.
• Production experience deploying Generative AI and large language model applications.
• Expertise in real-world data, data science, machine learning, AI solution architecture, and model lifecycle practices.
• Master’s degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering, physics, statistics, or a related scientific discipline; a PhD is strongly preferred.
