Safety Specialist

What you will do

• Administer safety programs to reduce plant accidents and injuries.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA and other government safety regulations.
• Develop and conduct safety orientation and training for all employees.
• Evaluate industrial hygiene factors including chemical exposure, noise, and heat.
• Maintain systems for reporting and correcting safety hazards.
• Provide regular reports on safety performance and loss control programs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Proven experience in industrial safety.
• Knowledge of OSHA, PPE, and industrial health regulations.
• Understanding of environmental regulations (waste water, air quality).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
• Must be able to work on-site in Convent, LA.

Nice to have

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification.
• Experience with Epicor or similar ERP systems.
