Staff User Researcher (Fintech): Leading research across Brokerage product areas to understand how people invest and trade with an accent on triangulating qualitative and quantitative data. Focus on translating customer evidence into product strategy and incorporating AI into research workflows.

Location: Must be based in Bellevue, WA, Menlo Park, CA, or New York, NY; in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $187,000 - $220,000 USD base pay + bonus and equity

What you will do

• Identify high-impact questions and lead end-to-end strategic, foundational, and evaluative research.
• Utilize a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods to triangulate data and provide evidence.
• Collaborate with PMs, designers, engineers, and Data Science to represent the voice of the customer.
• Translate research findings into clear recommendations that influence product prioritization and strategy.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools to increase research speed, reach, and impact.
• Mentor other researchers and contribute to organizational research standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of qualitative, quantitative, or applied research experience in industry or academia.
• Degree in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Behavioral Economics, Anthropology, Sociology, or related field.
• Proven track record of applying research to create meaningful product and business impact.
• Ability to structure complex, ambiguous problems and influence senior stakeholders.
• Willingness and comfort using AI-enabled tools in research workflows.
• Must be based in the US (WA, CA, or NY) to meet office attendance requirements.

Nice to have

• Master's or PhD in a relevant field.
• Subject matter expertise in advanced investing/trading (options, futures, margin).
• Experience in fintech or financial institutions.
• Experience combining primary research with transactional or market data.
• Experience developing AI enabled research workflows or automation.
