What you will do
- Audit existing component libraries and product experiences using AI tools to create a data-backed unification plan.
- Own and drive the token architecture (primitive, semantic, component) as the single source of truth for design and code.
- Establish Figma-to-code parity and partner with engineering on implementation pipelines.
- Define the contribution model, governance, and versioning to prevent system fragmentation.
- Advocate for and implement accessibility standards using automated testing and AI audits.
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to ensure a cohesive brand experience across all surfaces.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product design experience with a significant focus on design systems.
- Deep expertise in token architecture and mastery of Figma (variables, libraries, modes).
- Proven ability to use AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to automate documentation and design tasks.
- Experience influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority in a federated organization.
- Must be able to live and work full-time in one of the listed US states or Ontario, Canada.
Nice to have
- Experience in insurance, fintech, or other highly regulated product domains.
- Familiarity with Storybook, Chromatic, and token transformers like Style Dictionary.
- Comfort reading or contributing to component code (e.g., Angular, Rails).
