Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from the Barcelona or Madrid office (Hybrid)

Salary: €94,300 - €118,800

What you will do

• Lead technical direction and architecture for AI-native product features.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design to shape the roadmap from early stages.
• Build and maintain scalable, secure, and reusable AI components and skills.
• Develop monitoring and quality tooling to ensure AI features remain trustworthy in production.
• Champion spec-driven development to ensure reliability and compliance.
• Mentor team members and drive engineering culture improvements across the company.

Requirements

• Must be based in or able to work from the Barcelona or Madrid office.
• Solid depth in both backend and frontend software engineering.
• Proven experience shipping real products to production using LLM APIs.
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and system design.
• English proficiency required; Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails and React.
• Background in building agentic workflows or probabilistic systems.
