Software Engineer (Backend, AI)

Location: Fully on-site in Madrid, Spain

Salary: Up to €72,000 per year

What you will do

• Collaborate with principal engineers on development planning and architecture design, including the integration of AI-driven components.
• Design, build, and maintain distributed, clean, testable, data-oriented applications and AI/LLM-powered services.
• Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Improve service reliability, scalability, performance, monitoring, and host-level problem detection.
• Own code through production using self-service continuous delivery pipelines and production infrastructure.
• Mentor junior developers and collaborate with Data Science on data-related initiatives.

Requirements

• Solid knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and common design and architectural patterns.
• Experience developing medium- or large-scale web applications and distributed systems in production.
• Comfort working with AI coding assistants and agentic workflows, while owning engineering decisions, validation, quality, and production outcomes.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and make strong product and business decisions.
• Adaptability and willingness to learn Go, Elixir, Ruby, AI-native tools, and other technologies as needed.
• Availability to work fully on-site from the Madrid office.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic or RAG-based systems.
• Experience working with LLM and AI model APIs.
