Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Senior Software Engineer (Fintech): Building and scaling the User Financial Accounts (UFA) platform to serve as the source of truth for customer balances and financial products with an accent on distributed systems, ledger consistency, and high-availability services. Location: Must be based in Krakow, Poland (Hybrid: at least 50% in-office expectation).

Salary: PLN 320,000 – PLN 360,000 gross per annum.

What you will do

• Design and build core services and APIs for the UFA platform to ensure strict correctness in financial operations.
• Solve complex distributed-systems challenges including consistency, atomicity, and idempotency under failure.
• Lead the technical delivery of cross-team initiatives from design through production readiness.
• Set technical direction, manage design trade-offs, and ensure long-term scalability and reliability.
• Act as the technical point of contact for internal teams and external banking partners.
• Mentor engineers and improve technical quality through rigorous design and code reviews.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of leading technical design.
• Strong command of a backend language such as Java, Kotlin, or Go.
• Experience running production systems in the cloud (AWS or similar) including on-call responsibilities.
• Solid grounding in relational and non-relational databases and data-modeling trade-offs.
• English proficiency (B2+ required) and experience collaborating across time zones.
• Comfort using AI tools across the development lifecycle.
