Regulatory Product Filing Consultant (Insurance)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, or Springfield, Massachusetts

Salary: $118,900–$156,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead complex insurance product filings from planning and submission through amendments, regulatory review, approval, and documentation using SERFF or comparable platforms.
• Draft and coordinate policy forms, contract forms, riders, endorsements, filing communications, and related regulatory materials.
• Research and interpret statutes, regulations, bulletins, state guidance, and regulator feedback to develop practical filing strategies.
• Coordinate responses to regulator questions, objections, and comments, including amendments and internal reviews.
• Partner with Law, Actuarial, Product Development, Compliance, Print Production, and other business areas to align filing content and timelines.
• Maintain filing records and contribute to prospectus review, policy print review, fund updates, records management, and information management initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 5 years of experience in insurance, regulatory filings, contract filing, product compliance, or product development support.
• Advanced knowledge of SERFF, Compact filings, state insurance department practices, regulatory objections, amendments, approvals, and filing documentation standards.
• Experience leading complex filing projects, coordinating stakeholders and timelines, resolving issues, and documenting outcomes.
• Strong technical writing skills, including regulatory responses, objection responses, filing memoranda, contract provisions, or related communications.
• Ability to work in Boston or Springfield, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or advanced coursework in insurance, compliance, legal, regulatory, or financial services subjects.
• 8 or more years of experience with insurance product filings involving life insurance, annuities, disability insurance, worksite products, or comparable financial services products.
• Experience with records management, specimen requests, policy print review, prospectus review, fund updates, annual report filings, or illustration filings.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe, SharePoint, and collaboration tools.
