What you will do

• Lead and coach a team within the Commercial Production Lab to ensure daily operational efficiency and accountability.
• Manage administrative functions including onboarding, offboarding, timecard review, and personnel reporting.
• Oversee lab operations by monitoring sample queues, triaging sample quality, and maintaining shift schedules.
• Collaborate with the Quality Team to draft and maintain daily operations-related NCEs.
• Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate skill development opportunities for direct reports.
• Provide technical oversight for genomic analysis and variant science in accordance with CLIA, CAP, and CLEP standards.

Requirements

• Education: Degree in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, or related field; PhD, MD, or DO preferred for specific tracks.
• Experience: 1-5 years of relevant experience depending on degree level, including progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Domain Expertise: At least 2 years of experience in clinical abstraction, laboratory operations, or workforce supervision.
• Skills: Professional-level mathematical, computer, and reasoning skills with strong critical thinking abilities.
• Location: Ability to perform duties onsite in Gaithersburg, MD for lab-based responsibilities.

Nice to have

• BSN from an accredited College of Nursing (required for clinical abstracting roles).
