Facilities Technician (Quantum Computing)

Location: Boulder, Colorado, United States; Workplace: On-site

Salary: $75,000–$100,000 per year, plus annual bonus and equity.

Quantum computing organization developing computers based on arrays of optically trapped neutral atoms.

What you will do

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot facility issues, complete repairs, and manage technically complex projects with minimal supervision.
• Inspect facilities, identify hazards, coordinate contractors, and support office moves, equipment installations, and workspace reconfigurations.
• Maintain tools, equipment, loading docks, storage areas, and maintenance spaces in safe and organized condition.
• Receive, inspect, log, label, distribute, package, and ship materials, mail, and equipment.
• Coordinate with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve shipment discrepancies and delays.

Requirements

• 3+ years of working knowledge in facility operations, maintenance, construction projects, and real estate or lease administration.
• Knowledge of general maintenance procedures and basic proficiency in plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Mechanical aptitude and confidence using a range of hand and power tools.
• Ability to manage complex projects using independent judgment and initiative.
• Strong understanding of workplace safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, PPE, hazard reporting, OSHA, and fire code compliance.
• Ability to stand, lift, bend, and climb for extended periods and lift 50+ lbs.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in business or Facilities Management.
• Experience in facilities maintenance, warehouse operations, or a related field.
• Familiarity with UPS, FedEx, and USPS shipping systems.
