Lead Manufacturing Engineer (Quantum Computing)

Base salary: $115,000–$145,000 per year

What you will do

• Configure and optimize production lines for dilution refrigerator manufacturing.
• Lead engineers and technicians in hands-on assembly and fabrication of complex equipment.
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes, quality systems, and organizational systems.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and create work instructions and production documentation.
• Design manufacturing jigs and equipment to improve production quality and throughput.
• Collaborate with engineering on system design, design for manufacturability, and production schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mechanical engineering or an equivalent field.
• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• 3+ years leading a manufacturing line and 3+ years of management experience.
• Exceptional hands-on assembly and fabrication skills, with strong CAD and mechanical design skills.
• Strong organizational, project management, leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in ambiguous environments with a strong safety-oriented mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with vacuum systems, leak checking, thermal systems, brazing, welding, valves, pumps, or pneumatics.
• Experience managing quality systems.
• Machine shop and fabrication skills.
