What you will do

• Build atomic, composable, API-level financial primitives that serve as building hirify.globals for the intelligence layer.
• Collaborate with credit risk, legal, compliance, and product managers to scale Lending capabilities.
• Design and implement clean APIs optimized for uptime, latency, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead projects from initial hypothesis to production capability, ensuring high output quality.
• Operate and manage existing Cash services while recommending improvements to wider engineering practices.
• Participate in interviewing candidates and contributing to the broader tech and open-source communities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working on complex systems and delivering high-quality software.
• Proven expertise in Java and Kotlin.
• Experience with AWS and event-driven microservices architecture using Kafka.
• AI-first mentality and familiarity with agentic engineering to augment development capabilities.
• Ability to operate comfortably with ambiguity in a transparent DRI/IC model.

Nice to have

• Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, Hibernate, jOOQ, Aurora, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, or Vitess.
• Familiarity with DataDog, Buildkite, and Gradle.
