Research Associate (Education AI)

TL;DR

Research Associate (Education AI): Conducting quantitative and qualitative research on the role of AI technologies in educational opportunities and student outcomes with an accent on data collection, processing, and analysis. Focus on implementing rigorous research methodologies and analyzing educational technology usage to inform policy and practice.

Location: Must be based in the United States (U.S.). Remote work is available within the U.S. or from office locations in Arlington, Chapel Hill, Chicago, Sacramento, or Austin.

Salary: $33 - $40 USD per hour

What you will do

• Collect primary source data using interviews, focus groups, surveys, and educational technology usage data.
• Process and clean qualitative and quantitative data to prepare it for analysis.
• Conduct basic descriptive analyses and contribute to the interpretation of findings.
• Develop reports, briefs, charts, and graphs to communicate research results.
• Support project management tasks, including timeline development and meeting coordination.
• Assist with participant recruitment and outreach to school districts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of experience or a Master’s degree in social sciences or related fields.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and processing, preferably in education.
• Proficiency with data analysis software such as Stata, R, NVivo, or Dedoose.
• Must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
• Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B) is not available.
• Strong interest in the application of AI in education.

Nice to have

• Experience with classroom teaching or working with education stakeholders (school districts, educators, etc.).
• Experience supporting proposal writing and business development activities.
