Location: On-site in San Francisco (5 days/week)

Salary: $240,000 – $300,000 base + Equity

What you will do

• Lead all mechanical engineering aspects across the full development cycle for existing flagship products and new innovations.
• Manage a team of mechanical, soft goods, and prototype & test engineers.
• Provide technical leadership on architectural decisions involving thermals, fluids, mechanisms, and sensing.
• Collaborate with the CPO and executive team to define and execute the hardware product roadmap.
• Travel to Asia to coordinate with suppliers and ensure successful delivery against goals.
• Implement operational systems and processes, including design reviews and phase gates, to maximize team efficiency.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience developing complex electromechanical systems (consumer electronics, automotive, or medical devices).
• 2+ years of experience directly managing mechanical and product design engineers.
• Deep knowledge of injection molding, electronics/sensor integration, and mechanism design.
• Expertise in DFM/DFA, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and scaling products to high-volume production in Asia.
• BSME or equivalent degree.
• Must be based in San Francisco and work on-site 5 days per week.
• Willingness and ability to travel to China as needed.
