What you will do

• Lead the full product development cycle from brainstorming and concept evaluation through to production.
• Implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) for high and low volume products.
• Perform advanced 3D CAD modeling, analysis, and technical documentation.
• Lead client conversations, providing technical recommendations and framing product trade-offs.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to the global engineering community of practice.
• Prepare and manage vendor-ready documentation packages, including 2D drawings and BOMs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or similar.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, primarily in consumer electronics.
• Advanced solid and surface modeling skills with 3D software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping, machining, and casting.
• Experience collaborating in multifunctional teams as a mechanical design lead.
• Must be based in New York.

• Experience working in startups, corporate organizations, or consulting firms.
• Exposure to product qualification, regulatory compliance, and quality management standards.
• Knowledge of electronic enclosure design, thermal management, and electromechanical system integration.
