What you will do

• Create detailed SolidWorks models, assemblies, and bills of material for custom mechanical equipment.
• Apply design-for-manufacturability principles to support practical fabrication, assembly, and maintenance.
• Develop designs for high-temperature equipment, molten salt systems, and furnace components.
• Coordinate technical details with multidisciplinary teams, including piping, electrical, and controls engineers.
• Revise drawings and models based on design reviews, vendor input, and field changes.
• Maintain accurate technical documentation according to project quality and safety standards.

Requirements

• Advanced experience with SolidWorks, including complex assemblies and detailed part modeling.
• Substantial design-for-manufacturability experience with industrial or process equipment.
• Ability to convert engineering calculations and sketches into accurate design deliverables.
• Experience coordinating with fabricators, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams.
• US citizenship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with high-temperature equipment, such as molten salt systems or furnace components.
• Background supporting DOE, NNSA, or nuclear projects.
• Proficiency in tolerance review, weldments, sheet metal, and piping interfaces.
