What you will do

• Lead end-to-end board design including architecture, component selection, and PCB layout for edge-AI devices.
• Adapt vendor reference designs (Ambarella, NXP) into production-ready hardware meeting cost and power targets.
• Manage board bring-up and validation, including signal integrity, power sequencing, and EMC pre-compliance.
• Develop the embedded platform comprising BSP, bootloaders, device trees, and drivers.
• Ensure hardware durability for sealed enclosures, including PoE budgets and surge/ESD protection.
• Oversee the full product lifecycle from prototype through PVT and vendor handoff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of hardware product development experience with at least one product shipped at volume.
• Proficiency in Altium (or equivalent) for high-speed digital design (DDR, MIPI CSI-2, USB, Ethernet, PoE).
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers) for board bring-up.
• Competence in C, embedded Linux (Yocto/Buildroot), U-Boot, and driver debugging.
• Ability to work on-site in Sunnyvale.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ambarella (CVx) or NXP (i.MX) platforms.
• Expertise in camera/imaging sensors, ISP tuning, and IR illumination.
• Domain experience in access control or intercoms (NFC/BLE, OSDP, RS-485).
• Chinese language proficiency for vendor management in Taiwan and China.
