TL;DR
Senior Electrical Engineer (Aerospace): Designing and integrating electrical systems for satellite payloads with an accent on power distribution, PCBAs, and embedded control. Focus on executing the full design cycle from schematic to layout and validating hardware in a lab environment for space-grade reliability.
Location: On-site in Burlingame, California. Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, or protected individual to comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.
Salary: $150,000 – $180,000 + Equity

What you will do
- Design electrical subsystems such as power distribution, communication, and FDIR, managing requirements and trade studies.
- Develop and test reliable PCBAs, sourcing and derating components for harsh space environments.
- Manage the complete design cycle from initial concept and schematic capture through layout and test plan execution.
- Perform hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and power meters.
- Maintain technical engineering documentation and develop electrical interface documents for satellite subsystems.
- Mentor team members and implement improved design practices to raise the overall technical bar.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience taking designs from schematic to layout, manufacturing, and system integration.
- Proficiency with electrical design and simulation tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or Spice.
- Strong fundamentals in analog/digital circuit design, power systems, signal integrity, and DFT/DFM.
- Experience with embedded control, FPGAs, MCUs, and communication buses (I2C, SPI, CAN, RS-422, Ethernet).
- Knowledge of reliability methods including Worst-Case Circuit Analysis (WCCA), part derating, and FMEA.
Nice to have
- Exposure to satellite systems, bus avionics, or payload electronics.
- Working knowledge of space radiation effects and space design practices.
- Experience with EMI/EMC design and mitigation.
