What you will do

• Design high-temperature molten salt vessels, furnaces, thermal equipment, and custom process fixtures.
• Develop mechanical design inputs, calculations, equipment specifications, and fabrication support documentation.
• Evaluate materials, thermal expansion, sealing, insulation, and support structures for maintainability.
• Coordinate mechanical design requirements with electrochemical, piping, electrical, and controls teams.
• Oversee vendor coordination, fabrication, inspection, installation, and commissioning.
• Ensure designs align with safety, quality, manufacturability, and project schedule requirements.

Requirements

• Experience with high-temperature mechanical equipment, molten salt vessels, or furnace design.
• Demonstrated experience in custom equipment design and fabrication.
• Strong knowledge of materials, pressure/thermal effects, and structural supports.
• Ability to work effectively in safety- and quality-driven engineering environments.
• US citizenship is required due to government contract and clearance requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with molten salts, high-temperature corrosion, or refractory/insulation systems.
• Experience working with DOE, NNSA, or within the nuclear and chemical processing industries.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration or experience as a technical lead for custom equipment design.
