What you will do

• Maintain and refine the repeatable report conversion process for both LLM-assisted and structured step-by-step conversions.
• Review, validate, correct, and refine AI/LLM-generated Tableau reports before publishing.
• Define validation criteria and quality gates; review and approve junior developer output before QA and UAT.
• Develop complex Tableau data sources (TDS) and workbooks/dashboards, including table calculations and performance tuning against Databricks gold-layer tables.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers on gold-layer table design and Unity Catalog for governance, metadata management, and access control.
• Serve as technical authority for report fidelity on complex/high-risk reports; mentor junior BI developers and contribute to migration playbooks and demos.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on Tableau development experience (complex dashboards, published data sources, calculated fields/parameters/table calculations, performance tuning, Tableau Server publishing).
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Experience with data warehouse concepts (dimensional modeling, star schemas, medallion architecture, data marts, ETL processes).
• Ability to design repeatable processes/templates/standards for consistent delivery at scale.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust security clearance.

Nice to have

• BI platform migration experience (OBIEE-to-Tableau, Cognos-to-Tableau, or similar).
• Experience using AI/LLM tools in a professional development workflow (code generation, data analysis, documentation, report scaffolding).
• Familiarity with Tableau APIs and Python for scripting/automation/data profiling/metadata analysis.
• Experience in a federal government IT environment.
• Familiarity with OBIEE RPD structure/subject areas/presentation layers/BI Catalog.
• Experience with data governance, data lineage, metadata management, or data quality monitoring.
