TL;DR
Systems Installation Assembler (Aerospace): Building and installing aircraft systems, landing gear, harnesses, and structural assemblies for the T-7A Red Hawk aft fuselage with an accent on precision assembly, quality compliance, and FOD-critical manufacturing. Focus on operating powered hand tools, completing functional and pressure testing, applying sealant and touch-up paint, and supporting continuous improvement and employee training.

Location: On-site in West Lafayette, Indiana, United States. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or protected individuals under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

Salary: $23.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What you will do

  • Assemble and install aircraft systems and structural components in the aft fuselage of the T-7A Red Hawk.
  • Install landing gear, harnesses, and other aircraft systems in a strict FOD-critical environment.
  • Operate powered hand tools, perform angular drilling, apply sealant, and complete touch-up painting on Class A curved surfaces.
  • Conduct functional and pressure testing and sign off completed work according to specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and morale.
  • Train new employees and transfer knowledge within the assembly team.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and select appropriate hand tools.
  • Ability to work with standardized procedures and deliver repeatable, high-quality results in an advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive physical tasks, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3); pre-employment drug screening is required.

Nice to have

  • Aeronautics experience.
  • Technical degree or certification in aviation assembly, mechanics, or aircraft maintenance.
  • Experience with ISO/AS9100 quality standards.
