Workers Comp CA Senior Claims Specialist (Insurance)

Location: Fully remote from the USA; California workers compensation experience preferred

Salary: $95,000–$105,000 per year

What you will do

• Manage a large inventory of highly complex workers compensation and property and casualty claims.
• Lead comprehensive investigations to evaluate coverage, liability, compensability, and damages.
• Analyze and negotiate claim settlements and reserves within assigned authority limits.
• Participate in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, and trials when required.
• Communicate complex coverage and settlement information to insureds, claimants, and external partners.
• Maintain detailed claim files, authorize payments, and potentially coach or manage staff.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employment visa sponsorship.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, risk management and insurance, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 13 years of property and casualty claims-handling experience.
• Expert knowledge of insurance policies, coverage, claims procedures, industry laws, and regulations.
• Advanced analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information and manage claims at the highest technical complexity and authority limits.

Nice to have

• California workers compensation experience.
• Completion of or progress toward the Associate in Claims designation or a similar professional designation.
