What you will do

• Own and drive the transition to the new data platform (Dagster, dbt, AWS ECS, and GCP BigQuery), including tooling, monitoring, data checks, connectors, cost controlling, testing, CI/CD, and cataloging.
• Maintain and optimize core ELT pipelines, including nightly terabyte-scale data movement from MySQL on AWS to GBQ and daytime syncs that avoid impacting source system performance.
• Deliver and take responsibility for the most critical company reports that support executive board decisions and serve as a base for other data teams.

Requirements

• Substantial, hands-on experience in data engineering and software engineering with high-volume, business-critical pipelines.
• Experience building and maintaining modern data platforms and enabling other engineering teams.
• Deep practical experience with Dagster, dbt, Google BigQuery (GBQ), and AWS (ECS).
• Strong software engineering fundamentals applied to data engineering (CI/CD, testing, best practices, design patterns).
• Expert-level SQL and Python skills.
• Business-fluent English communication with the ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
