What you will do

• Take ownership of a varied caseload of customer claims involving high-value losses in excess of £50k.
• Lead the investigation, validation, progression, and resolution of complex perils and legal liabilities.
• Identify fraud, misrepresentation, and non-disclosure through tactical investigation and evidence gathering.
• Manage recoveries to optimize claim outcomes and control indemnity spend.
• Collaborate across claims teams to deliver high-quality service and resolution for customers.

Requirements

• Location: Must be based in or be able to commute to the Halifax office for hybrid work.
• Expert knowledge of recovery identification, handling, and legal principles.
• Ability to correctly interpret insurance contracts and Group, FCA, and ABI standards.
• Experience in conducting evidence gathering and customer questioning for fraud detection.
• Possession of or strong desire to obtain Cert CII, CILX, or BDMA Ins Tech qualifications.

Nice to have

• General Insurance experience and knowledge of claims processing.
• Strong knowledge base in property construction and building repairs.
• Understanding of basic legal concepts and processes, particularly regarding negligence.
• Ability to lead teams to achieve common goals.
