Claims Assessor (Group Protection)

Location: Hove, United Kingdom; hybrid

Salary: Up to £42,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Assess and triage new Group Protection claims and identify the required evidence.
• Manage claims from start to finish and make fair, accurate liability decisions.
• Authorise and process claim payments within agreed authority levels.
• Review medical evidence and determine the next steps in the claims process.
• Build relationships with IFAs, employers, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Support rehabilitation and return-to-work solutions, while using data to identify portfolio trends and maintain service quality.

Requirements

• Experience in claims assessment; Group Protection experience is desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to make balanced decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and workload-management skills.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements, data protection, customer needs, and fair outcomes.
