Senior Analytics Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid (London), work from home allowed on Mondays and Fridays

What you will do

• Own and improve data models supporting lending decisions, pricing, portfolio analysis, and investor reporting.
• Drive the development of dbt models and the transformation layer to accelerate insight generation.
• Define modelling patterns, architecture, and implementation standards across the analytics engineering layer.
• Mentor analysts to build stronger engineering habits and increase their effectiveness with data.
• Act as a bridge between analysts, backend engineers, product teams, and the data platform team.
• Optimize the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of the transformation pipeline.

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in SQL.
• Extensive experience with ELT pipelines and transformation at scale using dbt.
• Advanced data modelling skills for creating reliable and usable analytical datasets.
• Proven ability to influence and negotiate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Capacity to independently identify and resolve inefficiencies in data workflows.
• Comfort using AI tools to optimize day-to-day analytical and engineering workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake or other modern cloud data warehouses.
• Background in Fintech or experience working within a scale-up environment.
• Interest in technical mentoring and raising the bar for analyst teams.
