Lead Analytics Engineer (dbt)

TL;DR

Lead Analytics Engineer (dbt/Snowflake): Owning the data layer that powers analytics, data science, and self-serve reporting with an accent on dbt modeling and the semantic layer. Focus on designing mission-critical data models, implementing governance standards, and integrating AI tools to accelerate development.

Location: Hybrid in London (3 office days required: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday)

What you will do

• Own and design the dbt modelling layer, ensuring reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Develop a semantic layer to enable self-serve reporting for product, marketing, content, and finance teams.
• Establish technical direction and best practices for analytical pipelines, including code reviews and quality standards.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate ambiguous questions into governed data products and dashboards.
• Integrate AI tools and agents into the modelling lifecycle to accelerate development and improve data quality.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytics or data engineering with a track record of owning a modelling layer end-to-end.
• Advanced expertise in dbt and strong SQL skills for working with large, complex data sets.
• Experience building self-serve analytics products for non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical teams.
• Must be based in or able to work hybrid in London.
• Familiarity with Snowflake, AWS, and modern BI tools (Omni).

• Experience working in fast-paced startup or scale-up environments.
• History of leading cross-functional projects with Product, Marketing, or Finance teams.
