What you will do
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational scientific data algorithms and product-processing software for deriving geophysical parameters from remote-sensing data.
- Develop product-quality monitoring software, automated monitoring pipelines, dashboards, and web-based monitoring solutions.
- Investigate and resolve anomalies in science data processing, including bug fixing, processor validation, and operational monitoring.
- Support instrument navigation, registration, calibration, and Calibration and Validation activities for Level 1 and Level 2 products.
- Apply satellite data to meteorology, oceanography, and atmospheric composition use cases.
- Produce scientific documentation, validation reports, software release documentation, and project documentation.
Requirements
- Experience with Sentinel-3 Level 2 Atmospheric Products, especially Clouds, Aerosols, and Water Vapour processing.
- Practical knowledge of atmospheric retrieval validation, including Aerosol Optical Depth and Total Column Water Vapour products.
- Experience maintaining operational Copernicus near-real-time atmospheric processors and investigating processing anomalies.
- Strong scientific software development background with Python and/or C in a Linux environment.
- Experience handling satellite and in-situ datasets, statistical analysis, data validation, and validation reporting.
- Background in remote sensing, Earth observation, atmospheric science, physics, environmental science, or a related discipline.
Nice to have
- Experience with match-up generation, validation datasets, and performance assessment.
- Knowledge of Git/GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, and RPM-based deployments.
- Experience with Docker, HTCondor, Bash scripting, and API-based data processing systems.
- Experience maintaining technical documentation in GitLab or Confluence.
