What you will do
- Monitor particulate matter and gaseous pollutants in urban environments using atmospheric instruments and low-cost air quality sensors.
- Design and conduct field measurement campaigns, including upcoming drone-based air quality observation campaigns.
- Operate atmospheric instrumentation and ensure data quality during measurements.
- Analyze large observational datasets and perform atmospheric data processing, quality assurance, and statistical analysis.
- Disseminate research through peer-reviewed publications, scientific writing, and conference presentations.
- Supervise junior researchers where appropriate and contribute to an interdisciplinary research team.
Requirements
- PhD in atmospheric science, atmospheric chemistry, environmental science, aerosol science, physics, environmental engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in atmospheric chemistry, aerosol science, or air quality research.
- Experience with atmospheric instrumentation, including miniature atmospheric instruments and/or low-cost air quality sensors.
- Experience planning and conducting field measurements and atmospheric monitoring campaigns, including willingness to participate in intensive fieldwork.
- Strong skills analyzing large atmospheric datasets using Python, MATLAB, or R, plus experience with data processing, quality assurance, and statistical analysis.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Experience with drone-based atmospheric measurements, sensor calibration and validation, or instrument development.
