What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and characterize thin-film deposition processes using ion beam systems.
• Design and execute experiments (DOE) to improve manufacturability and process performance.
• Establish and document best-known methods (BKMs), operating procedures, and qualification methodologies.
• Lead customer demonstrations, process evaluations, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Perform root cause analysis on process-related issues to improve system reliability.
• Provide technical training and mentorship to field applications and service engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of experience with a BS, 5+ years with a Master's, or 3+ years with a PhD in thin-film deposition, semiconductor processing, or optical coating.
• Proven experience designing experiments and analyzing process data using DOE methodologies.
• Willingness and ability to travel 10–20% domestically and internationally for customer visits and conferences.
• Strong troubleshooting skills involving vacuum systems and equipment operation.
