What you will do

• Prepare month-end journal entries, supporting schedules, and account analyses for cash, loan receivables, and accruals.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate reconciling items to ensure timely resolution.
• Perform financial statement fluctuation analysis and research operational drivers behind variances.
• Validate data across general ledgers, bank platforms, and source systems to ensure accuracy.
• Develop and enhance scripts, queries, and data models using SQL, Power BI, or Python to automate accounting processes.
• Prepare audit-ready documentation for internal reviews and external compliance requests.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in general accounting, audit, or financial analysis (relevant internships considered).
• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting concepts.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (PivotTables, complex formulas, data manipulation).
• Must be based in Los Angeles, CA to work in-office.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Basic SQL knowledge for querying and validating financial data.
• Experience with ERPs or reconciliation tools like Oracle, Great Plains, or BlackLine.
• Background in high-volume transaction environments (fintech, banking, or lending).
• Familiarity with Power BI, Python, or AI-enabled productivity tools.
