Customer Service Engineer (AV/Cinema Systems)

Location: Must be local to Des Moines, IA, USA; approximately 80% of duties are performed onsite at customer locations, with frequent domestic and international travel.

What you will do

• Diagnose and resolve technical issues in audiovisual and cinema systems remotely and onsite.
• Perform emergency repairs, planned maintenance, installations, updates, and decommissioning at customer locations and Christie facilities.
• Provide technical support by email, telephone, and onsite visits while meeting defined service KPIs.
• Train customers on the operation of AV systems and related equipment.
• Maintain tools, equipment, market inventory records, and service documentation.
• Complete health and safety forms and follow applicable legal and company policies before and during customer visits.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in technical support, networking, field service, PC repair, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience with the repair, maintenance, or theory of digital projection systems and/or audio systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot system components, understand AV signal flow, and restore system functionality.
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Must be local to Des Moines, Iowa, and able to travel frequently, including internationally and sometimes on short notice.

Nice to have

• Experience with AV testing, audio/video calibration, and related equipment.
• Electrical or electronic training and knowledge of analog and digital circuits.
• Experience installing and servicing multimedia equipment.
• Ability to provide on-call support when necessary.
