What you will do

• Design and maintain the core SDK framework and apps for B2B clients and internal engineering tools.
• Develop and optimize low-latency image pre-processing pipelines, including enhancement and ROI extraction.
• Integrate and optimize third-party OCR and barcode decoding libraries into the SDK framework.
• Collaborate with firmware engineers to define communication protocols and debug hardware interfaces (USB, Serial, PC/SC).
• Port and expand SDKs and recognition libraries to Linux, embedded systems, tablets, and edge devices.
• Write clean English technical documentation and API references for global B2B clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Image Processing, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of professional experience in software development focusing on C++ and C#/.NET.
• Solid hands-on experience with OpenCV for raw sensor data and camera calibration.
• English: Proficiency in writing technical documentation and communicating with global teams.
• Must be based in San Diego, CA, US.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating OCR or 1D/2D Barcode decoding libraries (e.g., PDF417, QR codes).
• Expertise in Linux systems programming or Android/Tablet integration for resource-constrained devices.
• Experience with cross-platform tools such as CMake, Qt, or multi-OS packaging tools.
• History of interfacing software with hardware via USB, serial or PC/SC protocols.
