Embedded Software Engineer, Access Control (Embedded Linux)

Location: Onsite at the headquarters in San Mateo, California, United States, five days per week

Annual pay range: $125,000–$160,000 USD

What you will do

• Build cloud-managed access control systems for managing doors, schedules, and user credentials.
• Develop products alongside firmware, backend, and frontend engineers.
• Take ownership of major technical systems and drive complex product ideas through completion.
• Solve large, ambiguous engineering problems and deliver product-focused experiences.
• Learn and apply new technologies while contributing technical knowledge to the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or graduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience with Linux development as a software engineer.
• Proficiency in C and C++.
• Familiarity with Linux servers, device drivers, kernel patches, secure operating systems, and security-focused programming.
• Experience with Bash scripting, distributed systems, HTTP, and practical debugging.
• Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week in San Mateo, California.

Nice to have

• Experience with embedded Linux and Yocto.
• Familiarity with Secure Boot.
• Familiarity with Go, Python, and WebRTC.
