Hardware Engineering Manager (Networking Hardware)

Location: Hybrid, with an expectation of working from an HPE office an average of 2 days per week. The salary disclosure applies to the United States of America, including California.

Salary: USD 153,500–310,500 annual base salary in California, with possible variable incentives.

What you will do

• Lead hardware engineering teams and provide technical and execution leadership for hardware R&D programs.
• Translate product strategy into development goals, execution plans, resource priorities, schedules, and deliverables.
• Manage programs from product conception through mass production, including budgets, milestones, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate execution with system architecture, firmware, supply chain, and program management teams.
• Ensure design quality through design reviews, margin analysis, validation planning, and hands-on technical oversight.
• Hire, coach, develop, and manage performance for high-performing hardware engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and developing collaborative engineering teams, including global or multi-site teams.
• Strong execution, resource prioritization, risk management, business judgment, and decision-making skills.
• Experience influencing design direction, engineering standards, and team practices beyond a single project.
• Practical understanding of high-speed hardware design, including signal integrity, power integrity, and system-level performance.
• Strong cross-organizational collaboration and communication skills.
