Hardware Engineering Manager (Storage Systems)

Location: Santa Clara, California; onsite

Annual base salary: $217,000–$359,000 USD. The role may also be eligible for incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Lead, mentor, hire, and develop a team of hardware engineers.
• Set technical direction and execution plans for complex compute, storage, networking, and I/O systems.
• Own delivery across architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, eDVT, qualification, failure analysis, and production release.
• Develop automated qualification, system stress-testing, validation, and coverage-review strategies.
• Drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions for internal issues and customer escalations.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Test, Quality, and JDM/OEM partners to transition hardware subsystems into production.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Master’s degree with 5+ years of professional experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a Hardware Engineering Manager, with demonstrated experience leading and mentoring hardware engineering teams.
• Strong background in hardware design, x86 architectures, networking, high-speed interfaces, and system-level integration.
• Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity, thermal performance, electrical validation, and qualification of CPUs, DDR memory, NICs, SSDs, power supplies, and voltage-regulator circuits.
• Experience defining automated hardware qualification processes and directing diagnostics, test coverage, and validation strategy.
