TL;DR
Software Development Engineer (Fintech/Backend): Building and developing the User Financial Accounts (UFA) platform for customer balances and financial products with an accent on distributed systems, ledger consistency, and atomic money movement. Focus on designing core services and APIs, ensuring strict correctness guarantees, and integrating regulated markets like the UK, EU, and UAE.
Location: Hybrid in Krakow, Poland (at least 50% in-office monthly)
Salary: PLN 245,000 – 275,000

What you will do
- Design and build core services and APIs for the UFA platform to record and move customer money.
- Solve complex distributed systems problems including atomicity, consistency, and idempotency.
- Implement platform capabilities to support regulated markets in the UK, EU, and UAE.
- Manage the full development lifecycle from technical design to production readiness.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, and external banking/payment partners.
- Conduct design and code reviews to maintain high quality standards.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or Go.
- Experience with scalable distributed systems and cloud platforms (AWS).
- Strong knowledge of relational and non-relational databases.
- English: B2+ proficiency required.
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking platforms, or ledgers.
- Knowledge of regulated or compliance-sensitive systems (PCI scope, safeguarding).
- Experience building multi-tenant platform services.
- Experience working directly with external banking partners or payment processors.
