EHS Manager (Chemical Manufacturing)

Location: On-site in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA; the role initially supports facilities in California and Georgia and requires travel to other locations.

Salary: $90,000–$115,000 per year

What you will do

• Build and implement the EHS program for the future Charlotte chemical manufacturing facility.
• Support EHS compliance at manufacturing sites in California and Georgia during the 2–3 year transition period.
• Manage permits, hazardous and special waste, stormwater, air programs, SPCC, emergency response, and HAZWOPER readiness.
• Lead incident and near-miss investigations, audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop regulatory training and support employees, contractors, and the site EHS committee.
• Communicate EHS metrics and sustainability data while promoting a strong safety culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental studies, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of experience in an EHS-focused role within a chemical processing environment.
• 5+ years managing OSHA, EPA, NFPA, PSM, and other applicable regulations.
• 2+ years managing projects, with strong organizational, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with EHS reporting systems, MS Office, regulatory training, and accident or incident investigation.
• Ability to work on a plant floor in a chemical manufacturing environment, travel as needed, walk, stand, climb stairs, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
