EHS Engineer

Location: On-site in Bothell, Washington, United States

Annual salary: $100,000–$140,000, plus eligible bonus or incentive pay.

What you will do

• Partner with site leaders and associates to strengthen safety culture and deliver environmental, health, and safety training.
• Conduct risk assessments for processes, equipment, and chemicals, and develop corrective action plans.
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, injury prevention, and exposure prevention strategies.
• Maintain programs covering laboratory safety, industrial hygiene, respiratory protection, hazardous materials and waste, stormwater, air emissions, contractor safety, and electrical safety.
• Manage EHS projects, emergency response training and drills, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory inspections or audits.
• Apply hirify.global Business System tools such as problem solving, standard work, kaizen, visual management, and hazard control.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in EHS, safety engineering, safety management, occupational health, environmental science, engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline, plus 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience identifying workplace hazards, completing risk assessments, and supporting corrective actions in laboratory, manufacturing, R&D, or similarly regulated environments.
• Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local EHS requirements, including recordkeeping and regulatory inspections or audits.
• Ability to travel up to 15%; a current passport is preferred.
• Ability to lift, move, or carry equipment up to 35 lb and participate in emergency response activities.
• Ability to obtain medical clearance, wear a respirator, and pass a respirator fit test.

Nice to have

• Experience in FDA-regulated manufacturing or laboratory environments and familiarity with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Knowledge of OSHA/WISHA/DOSH, Washington Department of Ecology, and Puget Sound Clean Air Agency requirements.
• Experience with industrial hygiene, environmental programs, emergency response, business continuity, incident management, or regulatory audits.
• HAZWOPER operations-level training, Incident Command System experience, or an EHS credential such as GSP, ASP, CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
