Head of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS)

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; onsite role with domestic and international travel as required.

Salary: $190,000–$230,000 base compensation annually.

What you will do

• Set the company-wide EHS strategy, standards, policies, programs, tools, and management system across a growing multi-site portfolio.
• Build, manage, and develop a team of site-level EHS Managers and drive consistent execution across manufacturing, laboratory, cleanroom, construction, and office environments.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, local, and international EHS regulations.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, corrective actions, emergency preparedness, audits, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
• Oversee hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, environmental compliance, permitting, waste handling, and contractor safety programs.
• Partner with Facilities, Workplace, Real Estate, Security/Export Control, engineering, and executive leadership on site selection, buildouts, risk management, budget, and reporting.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive EHS experience, including 3–5 years managing EHS professionals across multiple sites.
• Deep knowledge of OSHA and other applicable EHS regulations, with experience building or scaling an EHS program.
• Experience in manufacturing, laboratory, industrial, or comparable environments; office-only EHS experience is not sufficient.
• Experience with incident investigations, regulatory inspections, corrective actions, and audit-ready documentation.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills and experience partnering with facilities, real estate, security, and executive leadership.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support sites and audits.

Nice to have

• Defense, aerospace, government, or secure-facility contractor experience.
• Cleanroom or controlled-environment safety experience.
• International EHS program experience and familiarity with local regulatory regimes.
• Technology Control Plans, ITAR/EAR basics, or experience working with cleared or vetted personnel.
• CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent certification and eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.
