Engineering Manager, Product Foundations (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in the New York City office

Base wage: $212,000–$274,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead, build, and scale a high-performing backend engineering pod.
• Balance people management with hands-on technical guidance and execution.
• Coordinate projects, set priorities, and maintain platform features used by administrators and employees.
• Develop reliable and scalable capabilities for reporting, analytics, document management, training, calendars, communications, and organizational data access.
• Bridge technical and non-technical teams through cross-functional communication and collaboration.
• Champion AI integration for product innovation and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer working on production web applications.
• At least 1 year of engineering management experience, including building and growing teams.
• Experience leading with an approximately 50/50 split between people management and hands-on technical guidance.
• Strong experience with AI technologies, Go, microservices, Kubernetes, AWS, and event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of data structures, data stores, algorithms, distributed systems, and common software architecture patterns.
• Exceptional cross-functional communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
