Director of Accounting (Fintech)

Location: Menlo Park, California office; in-person attendance required 5 days per week

Base pay: $213,000–$250,000 USD annually for Zone 1 locations; additional bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits are available.

What you will do

• Lead the global accounting month-end close, quarterly close, consolidation, and financial statement preparation under US GAAP.
• Oversee corporate accounting functions including operating expense accruals, prepaids, payroll accounting, and intercompany transactions.
• Support product accounting and collaborate with technical accounting on new product launches and operational procedures.
• Optimize accounting processes, reduce close timelines, and lead scalable automation initiatives using AI where appropriate.
• Serve as the financial systems DRI for ERP and system implementations, including audit-ready close deliverables.
• Build and scale a high-performing team while maintaining internal controls in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.

Requirements

• 12+ years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to build and lead teams.
• Strong accounting, analytical, process improvement, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience leading system automation and special-project implementations in high-growth environments.
• Experience with Oracle ERP, Coupa, Workday, and Oracle FCCS.
• Excellent communication and proactive problem-solving skills.
