Network Engineer III (Transport)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States; remote eligible with restrictions

What you will do

• Design, plan, implement, and support complex transport and access network projects.
• Maintain high-availability infrastructure focused on performance, redundancy, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Monitor networks, troubleshoot outages, schedule updates, and optimize capacity and performance.
• Define operational KPIs, maintain technical documentation and network diagrams, and provide project status reports.
• Coordinate with architects, project managers, engineers, software developers, product managers, customers, and vendors.
• Manage escalations, provide technical direction, and mentor junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer technologies, electrical engineering, or a related field; relevant experience and education may substitute year for year.
• At least six years of progressive engineering experience in information technology, telecommunications, network design and implementation, or complex project management.
• Advanced understanding of high availability, redundancy, reliability, testing, security, scalability, and telecommunications engineering standards.
• Experience with transport and access technologies, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, Ethernet, SONET, CWDM/DWDM, TDM/FDM, QoS, and related network hardware and software.
• Ability to work assigned shifts and provide emergency support outside core business hours when required; remote workers must follow remote work policies.

Nice to have

• Telecommunications industry experience.
• Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Nokia NRS, JNCIP, PCNSA, or related credentials.
