Senior Telecommunications / Network Engineer (Telecommunications)

Location: Remote work is available as site flexibility, but Scott Air Force Base, Illinois proximity is highly preferred. U.S. citizenship is required. Government meetings take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. CST, Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours cutover windows.

Salary: $45.00–$52.50 per hour on W-2. Contract term: 1-year base interval with up to 4 optional years, from November 6, 2026 through November 5, 2031.

What you will do

• Research and analyze network inventories, configurations, and technical requirements for approximately 40 customer data networks.
• Support agency customers in drafting network Performance Work Statements for EIS vendor competitions.
• Evaluate carrier and vendor provisioning solutions, assessing feasibility, performance trade-offs, budgets, and technical alignment.
• Prepare technical input for bid models, evaluation plans, Quality Assurance Surveillance Plans, and Independent Government Cost Estimates.
• Plan and coordinate service installations, migrations, and cutovers through technical conference bridges.
• Advise DISA, DITCO, PMO, customer, and carrier stakeholders on modernization, service activation, and legacy-line disconnects.

Requirements

• 8+ years of total IT experience, including at least 4 years of specialized network engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline.
• Active or interim Tier 1/NACI eligibility must be verified in DISS at contract start.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Experience with WAN, MPLS, Ethernet, SONET, optical wavelengths, dark fiber, IP VPN, VoIP, IP telephony, Layer 2 VPN, or IP video transport.
• A signed Letter of Intent must be completed before submission to the Government.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting the DISA/DITCO Telecommunications Service Support Team.
• Experience with transitions from GSA NETWORX, WITS 3, and GSA Regional contracts to EIS.
• Experience evaluating or drafting technical requirements for DoD communications programs.
