Transmission & Distribution Designer (Oil & Gas)

Location: Fully remote within the United States, or Lakewood, Colorado. Some field work may be required, with typical travel of 5–15%.

Salary: $32.00–$50.00 per hour, based on the Denver, Colorado labor market.

What you will do

• Design electrical power and mechanical systems for industrial projects, including diagrams, schematics, conduit and cable routing, grounding, equipment selection, arrangements, and wiring.
• Develop conceptual and high-level designs for project bids with limited information or direction.
• Perform transmission and distribution designs in PLSCADD and contribute to CAD and PLSCADD standards.
• Prepare design bases, bills of materials, specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
• Review the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for quality and accuracy.
• Support clients, project meetings, quality assurance and quality control, and technical training for junior staff.

Requirements

• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required.
• At least 2 years of relevant engineering drafting and design experience; an associate degree in drafting, design, or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency with PLSCADD, AutoCAD, AUD, Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word.
• Ability to interpret basic one-line and three-line diagrams and schematics, with working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in industrial environments.
• Familiarity with NEC, NESC, RUS, and other applicable codes and standards.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; willingness to provide technical assistance, attend training, and follow safety requirements.
