HV Substations Design Engineer

What you will do

• Develop conceptual and detailed primary electrical designs for high-voltage AIS substation projects.
• Propose technically viable, innovative, and competitive solutions during the bidding and proposal phase.
• Prepare project design criteria, main and auxiliary one-line diagrams, grounding drawings, layouts, elevations, and bills of materials.
• Perform cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station auxiliary load calculations.
• Select major substation equipment and review and approve manufacturer documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers, customers, engineers, and project managers to obtain electromechanical engineering approvals.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electromechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in primary electrical design for high-voltage substations, with a focus on AIS technology.
• Experience with substation equipment, including power transformers, breakers, disconnectors, and voltage transformers.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Revit.
• Knowledge of ANSI and IEC standards.
• Strong English language skills and willingness to travel 10% of the time.
