What you will do

• Manage monthly accruals through the Service PO Accrual Process (SPOA).
• Interpret and apply GAAP accounting requirements to ensure entries are properly recorded and substantiated.
• Collaborate with Requestors and Financial Analysts to prepare monthly accruals.
• Assist the SPOA database manager with preparation and analysis of monthly accrual data.
• Identify and resolve Procurement and Accounts Payable processing errors.
• Design and optimize desk procedures and process flows to maximize internal controls and efficiency.

Requirements

• Must be based in California (San Diego or Remote).
• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance strongly preferred.
• 3-4 years of relevant experience in accounting, purchasing, and/or accounts payable.
• Strong understanding of accrual accounting concepts.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Experience with automated accounts payable and purchasing systems.

Nice to have

• Experience with Oracle systems.
