What you will do

• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and variance analyses.
• Manage fixed assets, including asset proposals, disposals, and roll-forward reporting.
• Process vendor invoices, match purchase orders, and ensure proper coding to jobs and cost centers.
• Maintain the general ledger in compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Collaborate on external financial and tax audits by providing necessary documentation and insights.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in tax and/or accounting.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and general accounting practices.
• Experience with project-based accounting, WIP, and client billing.
• Strong proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Workamajig, Deltek, or Intacct.
• Must be based in or able to work in Chicago, Illinois (Hybrid).
