Software Engineer I - AssureHire (Go)

Location: 100% remote anywhere in the United States

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually USD, plus US employee benefits and annual bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Investigate, reproduce, diagnose, and resolve technical escalation tickets from customers and internal teams.
• Communicate with support, product, customer success, and occasional customer stakeholders about context, expectations, and resolution status.
• Identify issues suitable for engineering resolution, write code fixes, open pull requests, and follow changes through review and deployment.
• Use AI-assisted tools to accelerate triage and draft or review candidate solutions while applying independent technical judgment.
• Contribute to root-cause analysis and reduce recurring escalations through code, documentation, and runbook improvements.
• Apply secure development practices when handling access, secrets, candidate data, and customer data.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of professional software development experience; internships, co-ops, and substantial personal or academic projects count.
• Working proficiency in Go and familiarity with relational databases and SQL; PostgreSQL is preferred.
• Strong debugging skills, including reading logs, reproducing issues, and tracing problems across systems.
• Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfort using AI tools such as Claude and critically reviewing AI-generated analysis and code.
• Ownership mindset and experience with Unix shell scripting.
