Software Engineer III (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Remote within the United States; Atlanta, Georgia preferred

Salary: $145,000–$165,000 per year

What you will do

• Own feature development in Ruby on Rails backend services from technical design through delivery.
• Build customer rewards, incentives, and loyalty-program functionality for the core platform.
• Contribute to decisions on data modeling, service boundaries, API design, and background processing.
• Improve code quality, performance, reliability, and developer experience.
• Guide junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design feedback.
• Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, cross-functional planning, and technical documentation.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial Ruby on Rails development.
• Advanced Ruby on Rails skills and experience delivering complex features in software teams.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills, including schema design, query optimization, migrations, and performance at scale.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and applying unit, integration, and end-to-end testing practices with RSpec or Minitest.
• Familiarity with Sidekiq or similar background-job systems, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and deployment workflows.
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-assisted or agentic coding tools and AI-augmented development workflows.
• Experience in a remote engineering organization or with event-driven architecture.
